The purpose of the training is to check the procedures and measures established in the company's civil protection plan, as well as in the off-site civil protection plan and their compliance with real emergency conditions.

The training scenario assumes that during the loading of the ship, a leakage of acrylic acid nitrile occurs in the technological area of the 34th berth and in the port water area. The possible area of the leak is approximately 500m2, during the leak ten people came into contact with the dangerous substance and they need the help of the emergency services.

Representatives from the State Fire and Rescue Service, SIA VK Terminal Services, Ventspils Freeport Authority, State Police, Ventspils Municipal Police, Ventspils Regional Environmental Administration of the State Environmental Service, State Border Guard Ventspils Administration, SIA Ventspils Nafta Termināls, A /S "Ventbunkers", Emergency Medical Service and Northern Kurzeme Regional Hospital.

The organizers of the training call on residents not to be alarmed if they see the movement of operational transport and the work of firefighters on the company's territory, and apologize to the residents for the inconvenience caused by the movement of operational transport in the vicinity of SIA "VARS", as well as possible anxiety!
